A love for the outdoors and a passion for hospitality and traditional
entertainment have inspired Capt. Dave & Jamie Massey to make available a
broad range of outdoor opportunities to create memories that will last a
lifetime for you, your family and friends.  Sporting Traditions has been created
as a way of sharing a lifestyle with you.

Capt. David Massey Jr. and Jamie Walma Massey met while working for Sea
Island Company on the coast of South Georgia in 2000.

Dave grew up in Waynesboro, Georgia and discovered that the fundamentals
of the outdoors experience and hunting and fishing were an excellent way to
entertain his business clients.  This led him to utilize his Master Captains
License during the summer to charter offshore and inshore fishing trips for Sea
Island Company.  During the winter months Dave worked with Cabin Bluff’s
Upland Bird Program, guiding quail hunts and training bird dogs.

Jamie grew up on the 320 Guest Ranch in Big Sky, Montana
where her family
raised
quarter horses and hosted a variety of western hospitality events
including pack trips into Yellowstone National Park, sleigh ride dinners at Big
Sky resort, big game hunting and back country fishing trips.  There were
always new friends arriving and departing to enjoy the exciting traditions at
the ranch.  Jamie attended Montana State University on a Rodeo scholarship
and completed her wildlife management and shooting complex management
degree at Southeastern Illinois College.

Together they have opened and operated locations from east to west:

While at the plantation in middle Georgia the couple initiated the
reorganization and operation of the 2300-acre plantation.  This operation
focused mostly on traditional southern quail hunts but also offered continental
pheasant shoots, whitetail deer, eastern turkey, hog and some waterfowl
hunting.  The plantation included a beautiful clay target facility where they
hosted clay target events each year.  In 2004 Dave and Jamie facilitated the
remodel of an 8000 square foot cotton barn to create an additional lodge they
called The Gun Club.  This facility offered a spacious dining room, bar and
billiards, business office, retail shop and 8 private guest rooms.

In 2005, Dave and Jamie were recruited by a 4-diamond luxury hotel
conglomerate based out of Orlando Florida, to assist with the start up of a 23
thousand acre destination resort in Colorado. Their first project was to place
the operations team, including division heads for Upland Bird Program, Big
Game Hunting, Fishing, Kennel Manager, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping,
Retail and Spa.   There was much construction; service buildings including a
state-of-the-art game cleaning and processing facility, kennels to accommodate
50 dogs indoors and out, new guest accommodations to equal that of a luxury
hotel and a variety of cabins at elevations ranging from 5000 to almost 9000
feet above sea level. The Ranch is now one of the first of its kind, literally a
luxury hunting, fishing and corporate retreat.

Dave and Jamie have spent their lives sharing a variety of sporting traditions
across this nation with countless clients and friends.  They look forward to
sharing their unique brand of exquisite hospitality and making memories with
you, your family and friends.
